About the Author

A world-romper from the Pacific Northwest who quite enjoys the label “crazy,” T.D. Fox supplements a hyperactive imagination with real life shenanigans to add pizzazz to her storytelling endeavors.

Armed with a bachelor’s degree in Intercultural Studies, her favorite stories to write usually involve a clash of worldviews, an unflinching reevaluation of one’s own internal compass, and an embrace of the compelling unease that arises when vastly different worlds collide.

When not recklessly exploring inner-city alleyways during midnight thunderstorms in the States, she can be found exploring rainforests without enough bug spray somewhere along the equator.

EXCERPT

Samuel reappeared out of his haze of black and blue dots, with the hardwire to my head. He was in three dimensions. I could actually reach out and touch him, and it would feel like I was. Just for fun, I walked up to Samuel and slapped his face. I don’t know why, I just felt like it. What was he going to do? It wasn’t like I was actually slapping a real person; everyone knew that concierges were just interfaces. It felt good to feel my hand slice through the air, my palm contacting his face, the weight of his jaw being thrown back and the sting that followed.

Samuel staggered a bit. He turned, adjusted himself and smiled. “Thank you,” he replied, “that was refreshing.”

“You are welcome,” I answered. “It was good for me.”
