REVIEW – RIVER BY MARIE YORK

river

River Ryan is used to getting his way. Girls, parties, drugs… As the lead singer of Deadly Intent, he’s got the rockstar lifestyle down pat. But when journalist, Harper James, shows up to follow the band around for an article, River just sees her as another groupie. Little does he know, Harper is actually a spy for the label, and they want him out.

An unlikely love story about love on the road and how two people who couldn’t be more different actually fit together perfectly.

I was given a copy of this book by the Author for an honest review.

RIVER is a quick read. The characters and story line are well-developed. River Ryan is the lead singer of the band  DEADLY INTENT, and until he met Harper he thought the whole rock star lifestyle was what he wanted. The drugs, women, and booze is getting to where they don’t interest him anymore. Secrets will be revealed and love will be tested. This will pull at your heartstrings when you find out how and why he formed the band. I cannot wait to read more by Marie York. I give RIVER 4/5 STARS.

HENRY AND TOM is a heartwarming story. The characters and story line are very well-developed. This is a great story showing the love and trust of a man and whale. Henry finds Tom on the beach. He knows he has to help the whale and he calls a friend. When they get their, Henry starts to leave the whale, but the whale becomes agitated when Henry leaves. Now Tom has to stay with the whale why they try to get him back to the water. The crew attends the cuts that the whale had sustained from a shark attack that killed his mother. Be prepared to cry in this book, for it will pull at your heartstrings. It deals with finding yourself, family and marriage. This is not my usual type of story that I read, but I thought why not! I am glad I did. I GIVE HENRY AND TOM 4/5 STARS.

Hope’s life is complicated further with visions of a previous life and the arrival of an unknown enemy sent to assassinate her before she learns what she is truly capable of.

A TIGER’S BRIDE is a rip-roaring, good time. Eve Langlaise does it again, and has us rolling on the floor laughing with this installment of the Lion’s Pride series.  It starts up during the wedding of Teena’s sister Meena. Now Dimitri just wants a woman who can breed his strong healthy children. When he sees Teena he knows now his luck is about to change. She is an exact copy of her sister, except she is more demure than her sister. If she did not have bad luck, she would have no luck at all. Now Dimitri is not scared away by her bad luck, for he has enough good luck to help balance it out. For Teena is his, as in his mate. Now he promises that he will not kidnap Teena, but when he tries to call his henchmen and call it off, no one answers. Now they are on a plane to Russia, and Teena is his new bride. She is overjoyed to be married to Dimitri, now if only he would get to the bedding part. Befor that can happen, they have to survive an airplane hi-jacking, kidnapping and being rescued at a castle. Oh, did I leave out the angry Father who wants his baby girl back.  The life of a shifter with no luck. This book had me laughing and feeling sorry for Teena and Dimitri, because all they want is to be married to their mate and get to the bedding. A TIGER’S BRIDE IS AWESOME AND i GIVE IT 5/5 STARS.

REVIEW- BOUNDARY LINES BY MELISSA F. OLSON

boundary linesFitting into the Old World isn’t going very well for Boulder boundary witch Allison “Lex” Luther: she may have earned a place in a vampire’s service, but now it seems as if every supernatural creature in town has found a reason to hate her. And when Lex and her partner are assigned to investigate the suspicious disappearance of two vampires during the night of the full moon, they find themselves with more questions than answers.

Was it murder…or mutiny?

The crusade for answers will lead Lex all over the Colorado Old World, from a prison cell for a broken werewolf to a haunted Denver brothel. And when Lex determines the responsible party, the hunt is just beginning: something has been awakened in Boulder, something as old and powerful as it is terrifying. Only the woman with death in her blood can stop what’s coming.

BOUNDARY LINES grabbed me from the very first. This is the second book in the series, and the first book I have read of the series. I will definitely go back and read the first book. The characters and story very well crafted.  Allison “Lex” Luther is a boundary witch. Her magic deals with the boundary between death and life, and the other witches basically don’t want anything to do with her. They are afraid of what her magic does. Her magic has brought her back from the dead on several occasions. One time when she was younger, she drowned, and her magic brought her back. The most recent was her tour in the middle east in the military, when their convoy was hit by an IED. Everyone died, including her. Now she has to find out why magic has gone wonky in town. She will find out things about herself that she could not remember from her time of the IED attack. I love this book, and I give BOUNDARY LINES 5/5 STARS.
