About Outlaw Ride:

A recovering gambler

Hard-living biker Clint Remmick is fiercely loyal to the boys of the Demon Horde motorcycle club. He’s worked hard to redeem himself, and there’s no risk he won’t take to help his brothers, even when rivals threaten their safety. When his grandmother’s health takes a turn for the worse, though, he moves out of the clubhouse to take care of her. With his duties for the MC, he knows he can’t do it alone, so he hires Jo, a live-in nurse.

He didn’t expect her to heal him, as well.

A dedicated nurse

Jo Smith enjoys working for sweet old Anne Remmick, and she’s especially intrigued by her tattooed bad-boy grandson. Clint’s tough exterior scares her a little, but she feels a pull toward the sexy biker. Soon she’s dying to close the distance between them.

A losing bet

When Clint and his brothers have to pull a dangerous job in Reno, Jo is the perfect cover. With enemies around every corner, Clint needs to focus on keeping her safe—not the lust simmering between them. But when Clint is trapped by a rival club, Jo will have to save him…and their relationship.

One-click with confidence. This title is part of the Carina Press Romance Promise: all the romance you’re looking for with an HEA/HFN. It’s a promise!

“What’s going to go bad?” I rinsed the soapy pan.

“I can’t tell you,” he said. Clint put his index finger on my shoulder and ran it down my arm. Tingles began to fire all over my body, and I shivered. Was this some sort of seduction? If it was, would I allow myself to fall into his trap?

Yes.

“Oh.” I couldn’t think of anything else to say. His finger was running back up the length of my arm now. “Is this the first time you’ve ever had to do something like this?”

“No,” he whispered against the back of my neck. He was standing behind me now, and I could feel his body heat. “I’m just more scared this time around.”

He was scared? I tried to catch his gaze in the window behind the sink, but he ducked his head behind me. He placed both hands on my lower back and began to knead. This was bad, so bad. I wanted him too much and he was confessing his fears to me. Just like you would do if you loved someone.

“Tell me what you’re afraid of.” I whispered, leaning back against him. He felt dangerously good.

“I’m afraid of not coming home,” he murmured. He slid his hands over my belly and pressed me against him. Through my thin cotton panties, I could feel him, hard inside his jeans. I started to grind against him. “I’m afraid of not seeing you again.”

“You don’t see me now,” I whispered. I meant for it to come out as a bitter condemnation, but his hands slid up over my breasts and I could barely breathe.

He took one of my nipples between his fingers and pinched it. I gasped.

“I need you, Jo,” he growled. I tried to turn, but he held me in place. “I know I don’t deserve it.” His voice was rough, as though he dragged it across gravel. His other hand slid down, between my legs. “Come to bed with me. Just this, tonight.”

I was already wet. I wanted him, he knew I wanted him. There was no point in denying it. But he was so raw, I had to find some way to distance myself and try not to fall in love with him. If I went back to his bedroom, the intimacy would doom me.

“Here,” I demanded, rubbing my ass against his dick. “Here in the kitchen. Do you have a condom?”

“Yes, but I want to taste you first.” He began sliding my cotton panties down my legs. “Why don’t you sit up on the counter?”

“No.” I squeezed my eyes shut, picturing it. It had been one of our favorite things. Clint’s face would be buried in me and he’d look up. We’d share my orgasm together. Just like our last time together.

My breath started to come in short bursts. I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t let him be that close.

“No, from behind. Right now.”

He froze. I knew he was hurting and this wasn’t exactly what he wanted. He wanted that connection, those emotions that we used to share, but I couldn’t leave myself open to his hurt again. I waited for him to tell me no. Would he choose all or nothing? Or just take what I was offering?

Contemporary Romance

Pittsburgh Privateers third baseman Gavin Sullivan is home on Anna Maria Island with a lot on his mind: his mother’s recent battle with breast cancer and, now, the surprising news his oldest brother, Colby, is a twin. Gavin has a sister he’s never met, and worse, he’s sworn to secrecy while his parents try to find her. Is it any wonder he shows up to Spring Training thirty pounds heavier than last season? Armed with a complicated diet and a warning from Coach Zee, Gavin feels wrecked, until he finds a half-naked goddess on his parent’s stretch of beach. Funny how the body that has been making him feel so miserable lately suddenly has him flying high.
Curve model Emerson Raye wants to prove the naysayers back home in West Virginia wrong. Big is beautiful, too. All she has to do is land a spot in the Sports Unlimited Swimsuit Edition by convincing America to vote for her. When pro athlete Gavin Sullivan stumbles onto her oceanfront photo shoot and asks her out for drinks, Emerson and her assistant concoct a plan to leak photos of the date to the media and create the vote-getting buzz Emerson needs. Soon, Emerson realizes there’s more to Gavin than meets the eye, and their temporary, no-strings relationship heats up. But can something lasting survive under harsh media scrutiny when secrets threaten to sabotage everything?
Excerpt
Emerson had been kissed before. She had a modelling career full of air kisses, double-cheek kisses, and the occasional, friendly smooch on the mouth. She also had a personal life spattered with overeager, often rushed kisses that were nothing more than prerequisites for the main event.
Gavin Sullivan’s kisses weren’t like anything she’d ever encountered.
He took his time, eliciting pleasure with more than his mouth. His hands grazed her neck, his thumbs stroked her jaw. His fingers threaded through the fine hairs at her nape. And all along, his mouth explored her mouth. Lips to lips. Tongue to tongue.
He tasted like butter and sweet champagne. He smelled like citrus fruit and sandalwood.
She leaned into him and whimpered. Her hands gripping the collar of his linen shirt. Her body burned. Her brain urged her to crawl into his lap and settle in for a long, slow, mind-blowing ride. And she was seconds away from obeying when above them, someone cleared his throat.
“Sorry for the interruption.”
Emerson jerked back.
“Dessert?” the man asked as he set shell-shaped bowls of sorbet in front of them.
Gavin didn’t move. He didn’t take his hungry eyes off Emerson. “Thank you,” he said to the man. “That’ll be all for tonight.”
Looking into Gavin’s eyes, Emerson’s heartrate tripled. She wanted him. Even if it made her vulnerable. She wanted this. Even if it was a fantasy.
When the man left, Gavin grinned and reached for the silver spoon beside her bowl. “Dessert?” He dipped the spoon into the single scoop of light-colored sorbet and lifted it like he might feed her, but then, with an even brighter grin, he brought the spoon to his own beautiful mouth and licked it clean. “Lemon,” he said, his voice warm and deep.
She opened her mouth, and, for a split second, was afraid her throat was too dry to speak. “I like lemon,” she said, watching him help himself to another bite.
This time, he set the spoon down, and inched closer, so close, she could feel the cold on his tongue and smell the lemon on his lips.
“Want a taste?” he whispered.
She wrapped her arms around his powerful shoulders and pulled him in. Their lips locked. Their tongues tangled. He shoved his hands beneath her thighs and guided her onto his lap. Skirt riding high. Heart beating fast. She settled over his erection, biting back a moan as he nipped at her jaw and rubbed erotic patterns up and down her back. And then, he was licking her ear, tugging her lobe, sliding his hands along the silk of her dress to her stomach and the underside of her breasts.
Emerson tipped back her head, and her eyes fluttered open to the starry sky. Was it awful to pray during something like this? Because she wanted to. She wanted to pray for this to be real.

Political consultant Amy Fields only experienced jealousy once in her life, and that’s the way she’d like to keep it. Watching her older sister carry-on with the boy she absolutely adored in high school enough to make her never want to feel second-best again.
Now, successful in her own right. She’s making strides in her career and meeting interesting people, but one client takes a keen interest in her life – so much so, he’s determined to ensure she never finds a happy ending with the boy she loved long ago.
Prince Lucio Aussa can have any woman he wants, but he’s grown tired of superficial relationships. When his brother convinces him that he can find the perfect bride online, Lucio reluctantly agrees to go along with the plan. The search dredges up old feelings about Amy’s older sister, and prompts him to want to rekindle their broken relationship. But when the internet search points to Amy as his perfect mate, that changes everything. Now, he must reconcile the feelings he had for her sister with the realization that Amy is far more interesting than she ever was. To make matters worse, as his feelings for her grow, an enemy emerges threatening to ruin any hope of love for either of them.
Can the overcome their preconceived notions about each other and find common ground together or will yet another obstacle stand in their way?

 Excerpt
She stilled and the sensation disappeared once the man went into the elevator and was out of sight. Her pulse returned to normal. She waited another few seconds and headed back out into the dreary evening. The fog made the world seem darker.
Amy opened the door, head down, and walked right into a wall of muscled chest. Worried it was the man in the bowler hat, she swallowed a cry, stepped back into the foyer of the building and looked up at the man who was at least a foot taller than her. Her breath caught in her throat. Lucio Aussa still seemed larger than life.
“Amy Fields?” His rich tones were deeper and brought a chill of adult awareness.
She dropped her umbrella to the linoleum. She knelt down to pick it up, as did he. They almost bumped heads but she let him get her umbrella and he handed it back to her. “You’re prettier than I remember.”
“You remember me?” She straightened, her legs shaky.
“You’re Evie’s little sister.” He stood too.
Right. Her stomach shouldn’t flip. He had to get married soon, as the world knew, and her sister was the Fields girl he’d been interested in. It was too bad Evie intended to marry His Grace Michael Flynn, and be his duchess. Why was Lucio here, speaking to her right now? “That’s right. My sister doesn’t work with me or anything…”
“It’s raining pretty heavily. Let me give you a ride.” He opened the door, allowing a cool rush of air inside.
There was no reason her stomach should tense. His dark, shining hair curled over his ears and those dark brown eyes tempted her to swoon. Amy Fields never swooned. She lowered her head, her face hot with embarrassment. “I don’t want to be a bother, Your Highness.”
“I came to talk to you,” he said. “So it would be my pleasure, Amy.”
He had? Her named rolled off his tongue with ease. Her chest warmed from his nearness, and her cheeks must be scarlet at this point. “If you’re here to order an analysis of your country, you’ll need to come back in the morning and sign a contract with my boss.”
“I’m not here to hire you.” A servant with a six-foot wide umbrella met them at the front door and Lucio led her toward his waiting limo on the street corner. “Not exactly anyway.”
The servant opened the rear passenger door and she slid in across the leather seat. As Lucio closed the door, sitting so close to her their legs touched, she was rocketed back to high school Amy, who’d stared at him with longing as she wished he’d notice her, but then her sister would jump in front of her and throw herself at him. Evie had been relentless in her quest to one day be a princess. Amy shook off the memory as the car rolled down the street. She said, “I live out in Clapham.”
“I know. You’re doing pretty well for yourself.” Drops of rain glistened on Lucio’s shoes. “I was hoping you’d join me for a quick dinner so we can talk.”
Dinner? With him? It seemed like a dream where any second someone would yell “gotcha”, but she reigned in her imagination. He was a prince, and he’d belonged to Evie. She lifted her chin, intending to say no, but his brown eyes persuaded her to change her mind. “Okay. Dinner. I am curious, I’ll admit.”
Giving in was a bad trait she needed to work on. His hand brushed against her leg but jerked back fast so she knew it had been an accident. However, the jolt she felt was unexpected. “Thanks.” He turned toward the driver. “Please take us to Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester.”

After the torment of her childhood, Taya believes in love for everyone … except herself. Some things can’t be untaught.
Beautiful and tough, yet the most private woman anyone has ever met, Taya knows everyone has a past, yet she doesn’t share hers. Her past must remain behind her for her sanity and so the only man she has ever loved will move on with someone who hasn’t been destroyed by those who were supposed to protect her.
Then a threat has her past storming back in and taking over.
After looking into the big, baby blue eyes of the deranged little orphan who was dragged, kicking and screaming, into his home, Levi is determined to be the boy who will teach Taya that not every offered hand will betray her.
Playful and gorgeous, Levi’s first passion is the girl who consumes his heart. His second is serving his country, following in his father’s footsteps. When Levi is deployed overseas, he encourages Taya to spread her wings and pursue her dreams, hoping she will come back to her roots and the man who is waiting for her.
Levi is mistaken.
Taya can’t change who she is and has built a life for herself far away from the only man she will ever love.
Can Levi convince Taya their relationship is worth the fight? Can he force her to overcome her fears and let him in completely? Can Levi prove his love is the freedom she has been searching for?
Levi allowed Taya to control their relationship in the past, but now things have changed. He is taking control back, with or without her consent.

EXCERPT

“I’m really sorry, Levi. Please don’t be mad at me. I know how much you and Gunner have done for me. I wasn’t trying to disrespect either one of you. I swear. It’s just, in the last week and a half, I’ve been on an emotional roller coaster.” Taya stopped talking, hoping he would respond.

He didn’t say a word. Not even the slightest reaction to give her hope.
Nothing.
Instead, Levi turned up the radio. Big mistake. The silence was better than the song. Each word was an attack on their circumstances. “Not Easy” by Alex Da Kid, featuring X Ambassadors, Elle King, and Wiz Khalifa was tormenting the duo.

Life hadn’t been easy for Taya, but Levi had always tried to make sure she always had someone in her court. From day one, he had been the one person who she could always count on. Now, as she sat there in silence, she realized she might have finally pushed him too far. Levi really did have a breaking point, and he had clearly reached it.

Taya started to tear up, her eyes filling to capacity.

Levi had always loved her unconditionally, even with all her faults and weaknesses. It was one of the reasons she wanted him to find someone else, and the reason she had stayed in Toronto. Levi deserved a woman who could love unconditionally, just like him. He deserved a woman who was strong in body and mind. Taya knew she was only strong in body. Her mind was damaged. Even after seventeen years, she still woke up screaming with nightmares.

How many men wanted to make love to a misfit with a haphephobia?

Taya hated that Levi knew the term. Not many people did. But Levi knew it meant she had a rare phobia of touch or being touched that was associated with her PTSD.

Yeah, Levi had respected all her boundaries when they’d had sex in the past, but no man should have to follow such bizarre rules. It was beyond embarrassing and humiliating. She would rather use a vibrator for the rest of her life than condemn him to that kind of relationship.

In sexual relationships, if there was no emotional connection, a man could at least expect a good roll in the sack. Taya couldn’t even offer him that.

As the first of her indignant tears fell, adding to her self-loathing, she lowered her head in shame. She hated to cry. It was a sign of weakness.

Levi watched Taya in the rear-view mirror as the oncoming lights lit up her face and allowed him to see all the emotions play across it. She was breaking his heart, but if he was going to succeed with his plan, he had to learn to suppress his reaction to seeing her hurt.

He stayed strong until he saw her lower her head and a big, fat tear rolled down her cheek. Then his willpower started crumbling.

He chanted to himself to stay strong and keep his eyes on the road, not the rear-view mirror. This was for her own good. He had to face the fact that there were going to be more tears before he could get her to admit the truth.

Levi questioned for the millionth time why she couldn’t show her emotions. He had to get her to open up and share what had happened all those years ago. He had to understand the depth of her captivity.
