This series gets better and better with each book.  PROTECTIVE INSTINCT has a great cast of characters and a well-developed story line. Ryan and Teresa are mates, but Ryan is holding of on claiming her. He wants her to make sure that she really wants to do this? Teresa just wants Ryan to get it over with, she wants him to mate with her and and complete the bond. Everything is put on the back burner when Teresa and her sisters are in danger. A vampire wants the sisters to suffer for killing her maker. She will not rest until they are dead. I cannot wait to see what is to come in the next book. I give PROTECTIVE INSTINCT 5/5 stars. I recommend this book and series to everyone.

owl and the japanese circus

Fans of Kim Harrison, Jim Butcher, and Linda Hamilton will flock to the kick-ass world of Owl, a modern-day “Indiana Jane” who reluctantly navigates the hidden supernatural world.

Until she crosses paths with Mr. Kurosawa, a red dragon who owns and runs the Japanese Circus Casino in Las Vegas. He insists Owl retrieve an artifact stolen three thousand years ago, and makes her an offer she can’t refuse: he’ll get rid of a pack of vampires that want her dead. A dragon is about the only entity on the planet that can deliver on Owl’s vampire problem – and let’s face it, dragons are known to eat the odd thief.

Owl retraces the steps of Mr. Kurosawa’s ancient thief from Japan to Bali with the help of her best friend, Nadya, and an attractive mercenary. As it turns out though, finding the scroll is the least of her worries. When she figures out one of Mr. Kurosawa’s trusted advisors is orchestrating a plan to use a weapon powerful enough to wipe out a city, things go to hell in a hand basket fast…and Owl has to pick sides.

OWL AND THE JAPANESE CIRCUS is a cross between Indiana Jones, the Librarian, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It is a wild ride of a read, with well-developed characters and a great story line.  Alix (aka. Owl) is a disgraced archaeologist that now is a freelancer who recovers artifacts for her clients. One thing that she tries to do is not to take any jobs  from any supernaturals. Oh, and she is on the run from the Paris vampires. When she is summoned to meet Mr. Kurosawa, her last client. She delivered everything that he wanted and asked for. When she meets him, she finds out that she has been working with a supernatural all along. Mr. Kurosawa is a red dragon, and she is still working for him. What she did nit know is that the egg that she delivered to him was supposed to be housing a scroll. If it falls into the wrong hands would be very bad for everyone. This book will give you a few belly laughs and Alix is a kick-ass heroine. I want to be like her. I give OWL AND THE JAPANESE CIRCUS  5/5 stars.

“I would no longer be a mortal servant, a pet kept for sick entertainment. I had been chosen for initiation, to become one of the immortals…A vampire.

My transition continued on far longer than any other, filling my body with a pain that was beyond the natural senses. After four days of writhing in the burning change I blacked out, and what woke in my place was not a vampire. It was in a word…Chaos.”

No longer an average mortal and far from a vampire, Serenity is an unnatural force that rivals anything found in the planes of the Underworld. An advantage that her master uses in his quest to conquer the mortal world, while luring her into his bed with seductive promises. A flawless venture until they reach the city of Tentusa.

Now three centuries of loyalty between master and servant are shaken by a deep connection to land they wish to conquer. Serenity’s disobedience grows stronger with each passing hour, fueling her master’s impatient need to tame the wild creature that lives within her.

Lightening steals the coming darkness, thunder echoes against the rolling hills as the war inside Serenity starts to stir. Which is stronger… the person, the desire, or the creature?

IMMORTAL TEMPEST is an awesome book. The characters, world building, and story line are well-developed. The world building is very vivid that it pulls you into the story and lets you see everything from the characters point of view.  It pulled me into the story so much that I was at the end of the book before I knew it. Now I want to read the next book in the story. Serenity was once Opsona and when she was turned Vampire she became something more. I liked Serenity and her struggle against her master. She fights against his hold that he has on her, and tries not to take his blood so he will have a better hold on her. She only takes his blood when he forces her to, This is such a well put together book that I will definitely be a fan of this series and author. I recommend it to everyone and I give it 5/5 stars.

EXERPT

Vondorian’s hand grasped the back of my neck and forced my face toward his, “ I told you to open that beautiful mouth of yours.”

My focus gone, fleeting with his suggestive motion. I wanted to pull away but I didn’t get the chance. Master forced my lips against his hungry tongue, thrusting it into my mouth lapping up every bit of blood that lingered. I should have jumped off him, fled, but I couldn’t bring myself to move. I had to prove that my will was stronger than his seduction. A mistake. My body began to shake from his hungry assault. I tried to steady myself, to stifle the tremble in my muscles but I couldn’t.

            You have to stop this!

I jumped to my feet when the reality of what was happening hit me. I was losing control, my strength was slipping with each tease of his skilled tongue. Master grabbed for me as I stood, I jerked out of his reach, and turned away to hide my crumbling resolve. “That’s enough.”

“I say when its enough.”

“You gave me your word not to proceed without my consent.” I reminded him flexing my fingers to still their rebellious quaking. If there was one thing that Vondorian was known for, aside from his brutality,  it was the honor of his sworn word. While the other lords dealt in false promises and meaningless oaths, Master kept his word at all costs. It was rare for him to pledge his word, but he had done so to me twice in my service to him.

Silence filled the room after my blatant reminder, but I could feel his gaze burning into me. Those crimson eyes fixed on my figure no doubt, his jaw clenched with a fang tugging at his lower lip, an agitated habit of his.

This conversation was over and I dared to take a step forward only be drawn back against his hard chest. His hands clasped around my arms with all the rage that was spilling over from our mental connection.

“And you gave your word to follow me without question. You swore me your loyalty.” He hissed in my ear as his grip grew tighter. “Stray from my orders again and I may forget my manners.” ~Serenity~

BOOK REVIEW FOR “ONE LUCKY VAMPIRE” BY LYNSAY SANDS

Product Details

No one does wickedly funny and irresistibly steamy like New York Times bestselling author Lynsay Sands—especially in this red-hot romance between a reluctant vampire and the beauty who needs his help.

Luck be a vampire tonight . . .

When Nicole Phillips agreed to hire a housekeeper, she pictured someone a little frumpy and almost certainly female. Instead, she gets gorgeous, unmistakably male Jake Colson. The man is proving indispensable in the kitchen—and everywhere else. Except Jake might not be a mortal man at all.

. . . and every night

Who wouldn’t want to be a tall, dark, powerful vampire?Jake, for one. He’s barely had time to adjust to his newstate before he’s roped into a family favor. Still, secretly playing bodyguard to sweet, sexy Nicole is turning out to be the wildest ride of his life. First, he’ll put a stop to whoever’s targeting her. Then he’ll prove that this kind of love, and luck, happens only once in an eternity.

BOOK DESCRIPTION COURTESY OF AMAZON

I always love a good Lynsay Sands book. The story line was great, and the characters were well- developed. I really loved Jake and Nicole. They were very believable characters, and their character’s grew as the story progressed. Jake had to accept that he was not a monster, when he was turned like in all the  horror movies he watched as a kid. Nicole had to learn to trust Jake enough to fall in love with him and let him turn her. The one that is stalking he and trying to kill them, you will never guess. It is a nice little twist to the story. Lynsay Sands signature humor is right there in every page. I give this book 5/5 stars. I cannot wait until the next one.
